【News】Announcement of accepted bid to purchase land in International Strategic Zone in Tonomachi, Kawasaki City, Japan

 – CYBERDYNE will promote the international business of leading-edge medical devices, based in the National Strategic Special Zone –

CYBERDYNE Inc. (hereinafter the Company), announces that the company tendered a bid for the land, located in District No. 2-5, 3 Chome, Tonomachi, Kawasaki City, which was offered by the independent administrative agency, Urban Renaissance Agency (hereinafter UR) and its bid was accepted today as below.

Location: 102-7, 102-8, 102-18, and 102-19, 3 Chome, Tonomachi, Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki-shi (City), Kanagawa-ken (Prefecture), Japan

Total area: 15,433.60 m2 Accepted bid: JPY 3 billion

After concluding a comprehensive agreement with Kawasaki City on June 18th this year, which was also designated as part of National Strategic Special Zone, the company took steps to secure a hub for the international development of the medical business for:

  • –  creating the leading-edge medical-related industry, which is a centerpiece of the national growth strategy, and

  • –  contributing to the country’s economic growth.

    In response to this bid acceptance, the proposal to acquire the land will be submitted to the company’s board meeting which will be held later. Subject to the board meeting resolution, the land acquisition will finally be confirmed.

    Tonomachi International Strategic Zone in Kawasaki City, KING SKYFRONT (partially quoted from its website):
    KING SKYFRONT is the Tonomachi development area of Kawasaki City, situated on the opposite shore of Tama River, facing the Haneda International Airport. The area is also designated as part of “the Keihin Coastal Area Life Innovation Comprehensive Special Zone for International Competitiveness Development”. KING SKYFRONT is expected to become the hub of the world’s most advanced research and development for creating new industries, including life science and environmental issues as centerpieces, which are expected to be growth areas.
