Medical HAL® – Single Joint Type

A product to induce improvement in the movement of various joints.

Features

Controlled by the wearer’s intent

Like all other HAL systems, the product is installed with a mode to control the motors with the wearer’s intent of the movement. The non-invasive sensor of the product can detect faint “bio-electrical signals” on the surface of the skin, which reflects the intention to move. Even for patients who have difficulty moving, with this unique system, the product allows the wearer to perform the desired movements with their voluntary commands.

Formulating a healthy loop of signals

The product will help the wearer formulate a new healthy loop of signals that induce improvement in moving various joints by assisting the wearer in performing voluntary desired movements. As a result, medical professionals can make different adjustments to help the wearer move precisely the way they intend to move.

Intensive training of specific joints

By changing the attachment parts, the wearer can train their elbow, knee, ankle* and shoulder* joints with a single unit of the product. This feature enables flexible training according to the patients’ conditions. In addition, its compact and easy-to-carry design allows it to be used in a wide range of environments, including rehabilitation in various postures according to physical conditions, in the ICU, or at the bedside in a hospital ward.

*Ankle joint attachment and shoulder training kit are optional. Therefore, it will not come with the basic package.

Visualizes the information of the body

A monitor designed for the HAL Single Joint Type supports efficient rehabilitation by allowing the user to check the strength of bio-electrical signals, the target number of exercises, and a comparison with past training history.
